Guide: After SEE

The SEE (Secondary Education Examination) is a major milestone. What you choose next sets the foundation for your career. Here are your primary options.

+2 (Science, Management, Humanities, Education)

The traditional and most flexible route. If you want to keep your options open for a Bachelor's degree, +2 is highly recommended.

What you should focus on:
  • Choosing the right stream based on interest, not peer pressure.
  • Researching colleges with good faculties over heavy marketing.
  • Understanding the NEB curriculum and grading system.

CTEVT Diplomas (3 Years)

A vocational and technical route. Ideal if you know exactly what you want to do (e.g., Nursing, Overseer, Engineering, Agriculture) and want practical skills quickly.

What you should focus on:
  • Preparing for the CTEVT entrance exam.
  • Checking out government versus private institution costs.
  • Understanding Bachelor's equivalency (it can be restrictive later).

A-Levels / IB

International high school equivalencies. Excellent if you are planning to study abroad or prefer a highly analytical and research-based curriculum over rote learning.

What you should focus on:
  • Higher tuition costs compared to NEB.
  • Subject combinations and global university requirements.
  • The rigorous internal assessment and grading criteria.
